Pharrell Williams Is Designing a Capsule Collection for Chanel

Chanel campaign star, catwalk model, and trainer collaborator – now Pharrell Williams can add designer to his CV. Following the success of his previous work for Karl Lagerfeld – including the composition of a song with Cara Delevingne for the pre-Fall 2015 collection – the helm of the house has asked the music maestro to create a capsule collection.

The news was revealed last week, at a replica of Chanel’s Cruise 2018 show in a new installation on the banks of the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok. Williams sat on the front row alongside wife Helen Lasichanh and son Rocket Williams wearing a yellow hoodie emblazoned with sparkly Chanel insignia. The logo-embellished streetwear was later revealed as his own design, part of a ready-to-wear and accessories edit of Spring 2019.

Details of the size of the range and pricing of individual pieces are yet to be released, but Chanel has said that the collection will debut exclusively on March 29 at its new Seoul flagship, followed by select Chanel boutiques around the world from April 4. Stay tuned for more pictures of Williams’s take on those iconic double Cs.
