On the penultimate day of Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024, the seasonal focus on volume is glimpsed once again on the runway as Louis Vuitton thinks bigger. For Mugler, it is all about a dangerous sensuality with a little help from the stars while John Galliano mesmerized his guests as usual for Maison Margiela with his avant-garde spirit.
Below, discover all the highlights from Day 8 of Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024.
Louis Vuitton
Inside the Louis Vuitton Champs Elyseés boutique which is currently under construction, the luxury fashion house presented a collection that was right on trend for this Paris Fashion Week. With an overall focus on extreme volume, much like we have seen in various shows this past week, Louis Vuitton also managed to bend some widely accepted style guidelines as a profusion of prints clashed and merged in a bold statement. For many, one of the highlights of the evening was certainly Zendaya as the Louis Vuitton ambassador attended the show in an exquisite white dress embellished by gold hardware.
Mugler

Mugler has always carried a dangerous sort of sensuality accentuated by a penchant for sculptural techniques. This Paris Fashion Week, Casey Cadwallader took the drama up a notch with wind machines as the models walked the runway surrounded by an irresistible aura one associates with a femme fatale. The collection itself carried the precision and proportions expected of a designer who originally studied architecture, but that was not all Cadwallader had in store for his guests. Surprise cameos from Y2K icon Paris Hilton, Angela Bassett, Fan Bingbing, Irina Shayk, and more turned the show into a star-studded affair fit for Paris.
Maison Margiela

There is something almost theatrical about Maison Margiela, a sentiment carried throughout the Spring/Summer 2024 show as models came down the runway slouched over and gender was cast adrift. A deconstructed disposition was presented enhanced by John Galliano’s penchant for edgy Victorian frou frou. On display were exaggerated culottes, slinky bustier dresses, and of course, new iterations of the covted Tabi shoes, pieces that somehow seem disheveled and elegant at once in true Margiela fashion.
