She may only turn 21 in June, but British-Moroccan model Nora Attal has already achieved many career milestones. From her first Vogue cover to walking the runways for Chanel and Dior; not bad for someone who only went full-time in the summer of 2017.

Although talent-spotted as a teen – she was cast to star in the JW Anderson SS14 campaign – Attal chose to focus on her studies, taking a criminology and psychology degree in London. Luckily for the fashion industry the Arab beauty returned with gusto, forging a position as one of the top models in the world right now. In celebration of the three-time cover star‘s birthday, here are eight of Nora Attal’s greatest fashion moments:

Her first ever campaign with JW Anderson

At just 16, the “mystery girl” with the serious brows and the even more serious beauty caught the industry’s attention when she appeared in the JW Anderson SS14 campaign – a fashion star was truly born.

Dubbed a model of the next generation

Former Editor-in-Chief, Alexandra Schulman‘s final issue of British Vogue celebrated the past, present and future of modeling. Representing the new generation, Attal starred on the group cover alongside industry heavyweights including  Kate Moss and Edie Campbell and Stella Tennant. The shoot, shot by Mario Testino, was also the last by the magazine’s former Fashion Director Lucinda Chambers.

Lands her first solo Vogue cover

Nora Attal was the Vogue Arabia December 2017 cover star, making it her first solo Vogue cover. Calling the opportunity a “dream come true,” the model was shot in the US by renowned photographer Emma Summerton. Vogue Arabia’s editor-in-chief, Manuel Arnaut, said of the cover shoot, “Ever since I first saw Nora Attal on the runway, I knew she was perfect for Vogue Arabia. Not only does she have the most gorgeous features (including glorious eyebrows), her charisma and focus make her unique. Chat with her and you will find her cool, contemporary, and a great ambassador for the Arab world, who is still extremely connected to her culture.”

Sets her own rules

Attal lands her second Vogue Arabia for the December 2019 issue, which celebrated Arab models making their own rules. She starred on her own cover and also alongside Hayett McCarthy, Nour Rizk, Malika El Maslouhi, and Leyla Karim Greiss. “The Middle East has a bigger influence than ever in fashion, and I’m glad to be a part of it by representing it,” explained Attal. “A lot of Arab women inspire me in what they do, from human rights activism to succeeding as beauty entrepreneurs or filmmakers who are shedding light on women’s struggles in the Middle East.”

In Vogue Arabia’s December 2017 cover story, Attal revealed it would be a dream to walk for Chanel. Well, during the SS19 show in the Grand Palais her wish was granted. She is now a regular for the brand, most recently walking the FW20 show during Paris Fashion week.

Takes her runway success back to her roots

The Moroccan-British beauty has been working with Maria Grazia Chiuri and her team since the designer debuted for Dior in 2017. So, it was no surprise when she was chosen to walk at the brand’s resort 2020 show in Marrakech. Grateful to be in her mother country, the model even took pride taking fellow models on a tour of the city.

Stars on her first Vogue US Cover

For Vogue US‘s April 2020 issue, Vogue editors-in-chief nominated models from around the world — each one with stories and perspectives as compelling as their look — to celebrate today’s truly global runway. Nora Attal was one of the models chosen to star on one of the multiple covers.

Nora Attal gets her own Vogue Italia shoot

While it might not be a cover, just yet, Attal did fulfil another career dream when she was shot for Vogue Italia. What made it extra special was the fact it also starred a number of her family members. As someone who is very close to her roots, the shoot, and story, was one truly close to her heart.
