Those who’ve been paying close attention to the award-season red carpets will be familiar with the name Tyler Ellis. The Los Angeles-based accessories designer’s clutches, which are beloved by Gigi Hadid, Kylie Jenner, and Emma Stone, have been carried by everyone from Octavia Spencer to Sarah Paulson on recent red carpets. Now, the accessories label has been hand-selected for an exclusive collaboration with Noon By Noor for the Bahraini womenswear brand’s forthcoming Spring 2018 collection.
“We really admire Tyler Ellis bags, whose designs are favored and respected by many celebrities,” the designer duo behind Noon By Noor, Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa, tells Vogue Arabia. “When we sat with Tyler and her team, we all felt that Tyler Ellis and Noon By Noor were an instant match for a special collaboration.” Indeed, besides being celebrity favorites (Noon By Noor has been sported by Alexa Chung, Solange Knowles, and Eva Longoria) the two brands share more things in common. For one, fashion is a family affair for all three designers. Ellis is the daughter of fashion designer Perry Ellis, and Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa are cousins.
The not-yet-released collection will include 10 bags in two models – the Kelly Box and Lee Pouchet – crafted in exotic leathers and fabrics and will be revealed during the brand’s New York Fashion Week showcase on Thursday.
Along with the exciting collaboration, Noon By Noor’s Spring 2018 collection promises feminine silhouettes and fine tailoring. “One of our standout pieces is a Ladybird red jumpsuit with wide-legged pants. The sumptuous fabric gives the piece a chic yet effortless feel,” said the designers.
The designers also offer a glimpse via an exclusive sketch (above) ahead of their runway reveal on Thursday. The sketch features a two-piece ensemble, replete with a billowing white skirt and an asymmetric black top.
A sneak peek of the collaboration with Tyler Ellis is provided via an image of The Kelly Box in black lizard skin with gold hardware. However, as enticing as the handbag is, the designer cousins won’t be branching out into accessories anytime soon, but are open to collaborating with more brands in the near future. “Our main focus will always be ready-to-wear. We may look to develop our own accessories for future collections, but we are currently excited about exploring new possible collaborations.” Watch this space.
