Today, Bahrain-based fashion house, Noon by Noor revealed its Resort 2017 collection, to be released in stores December 2016. The collection is made up of 25 looks in a color palette of soft mint, off-white, and baby pink, and is darted with carbon black leather. Wearable and versatile, the cream jumpsuit and marbled biker jacket are key pieces for a trans-seasonal wardrobe. This December drop comes as a 180-degree departure from the fashion house’s previous collection that was punctuated with fur (a first for the brand) and dark-hued wintry separates.

Early Fall 2016, Noon by Noor announced its collaboration with leading fur house Kopenhagen Fur for its Fall 2016 collection. The move elevated the Bahraini brand on the premium marketplace as it was notably the first time founding designers Shaikha Noor and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa incorporated skins into a collection, which the duo described to be, “An exciting process.”

Vogue Arabia speaks to the founding designers on their perpetual influences and how they plan to raise Noon by Noor’s premium game.

How did you decide which type of fur to use in the Fall 2016 collection?

We wanted to use a very luxe fur that is in line with our fabrics and brand aesthetic. We felt mink was suitable and it worked perfectly for the styles developed.

What type of woman do you aspire will be drawn to the fur pieces in your Fall 2016 collection?

The fur pieces were designed keeping the Noon By Noor girl in mind. She is not scared of taking risks and loves to experiment with texture, print, and color. These pieces are also for a woman who loves wearing statement looks.

Where do you go when searching for cultural references or inspiration?

We love to travel so we draw a lot of our inspiration from this as well as referencing elements from our home, Bahrain. We also find inspiration in art, interiors, and architecture. We love spending time at a villa at the Ritz Carlton Bahrain, where we have access to the beach. It’s a very relaxing and calm environment to work at and [where we] gather our thoughts and ideas. The second place is a private weekend getaway house that has a tranquil garden with beautiful landscaping—another great place to draw inspiration from.

Compare how you felt when you first showcased at NYFW 2012 to your most recent show during fashion month.

We’re much more relaxed and aware of our needs, as opposed to being stressed during our very first show!

The Noon by Noor Resort 2017 will be stocked at Saks Fifth Avenue Bahrain; Harvey Nichols Riyadh and Kuwait; Per Lei Couture Doha; and Le 66 Paris.
