Young designers Arwa Al Banawi, Fahad and Shouq Al Marzouq, and Lama Jouni helm three of the Middle East’s most promising labels, having seen their collections feted by fashion critics and celebrities alike just a few short years after launching.
But how does one go from budding designer to an in-demand label? Luckily, the four will open up about their rise to success as part of Vogue Loves Fashion Avenue, a 10-day celebration of The Dubai Mall‘s 10th anniversary. Taking to the main stage at 7pm in the lifestyle destination’s Fashion Avenue, Al Banawi, the Al Marzook siblings, and Jouni will candidly discuss their celebrity-loved collections and the reality of being fashion entrepreneurs in the region.
Dubai-based, Saudi-born designer Al Banawi, who founded her brand in 2015, is admired for her women’s ready-to-wear, which has a focus on contemporary, powerful separates, while Kuwaiti accessories label Marzook is beloved by It-girls around the world for its modern, futuristic, yet supremely glamorous bags and clutches. 2017 DDFC/Vogue Fashion Prize ready-to-wear design finalist Jouni honed her crafted at Balmain and Rad Hourani before launching her eponymous label, known for its fusion of tailoring and urban touches.
Moderated by Vogue Arabia’s Fashion Director Katie Trotter, the panel will unlock tricks of the trade and insightful anecdotes for fashion fans and aspiring designers. Whether you’re a devotee of the designers’ labels or keen to create your own path in the industry, don’t miss the chance to receive some rare, firsthand advice from some of the region’s finest.
