After years of quietly unveiling her resort collections, Miuccia Prada is finally joining the Resort calendar, reports WWD. Prada will be showcasing its Resort 2018 collection on May 7 in Milan. Though it’s become expected for major brands to crisscross the globe to showcase their resort collections at exotic locations – Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Valentino have staged shows everywhere from Dubai (Chanel, 2014) to Rio de Janeiro (Louis Vuitton, 2017) – Prada is remaining at home. Miuccia Prada will host a lunch for 250 guests at the Pasticceria Marchesi at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II; the same galleria that houses the Prada men’s store.

In the past, Prada showcased its cruise collection on the runway in June alongside the men’s spring lineup. This shift will put the brand in the front-end of the resort calendar, joining Louis Vuitton, which is staging its Resort show in Japan on May 18.
