Kim Kardashian recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she openly spoke about her relationship with partner Pete Davidson. Her appearance on the talk show marked her first on-screen one after being declared legally single from her divorce from Kanye West, now known as Ye, and making it Instagram official with Davidson.

“I see a shift in you, an ease to you, a whole different side,” DeGeneres can be seen saying to Kardashian in a clip from the show. Speaking about the Saturday Night Live comedian, Kardashian said, “I went for it. I was like, ‘You know what, I’m in my 40s. Just go for it. Find your happiness.'” She added, “I went for it and I took my time. I found it and it feels so good. I want to hold on to that forever.”

On the topic of posting candid pictures of herself with Davidson, she went on to reveal that those are only a few of many.  Although believing that “it’s not official until you post,” Kardashian said that she has been holding herself back from sharing everything. “I have the cutest pictures of us and I want to be like, ‘Oh my God, we’re so cute.’ But then I’m like, ‘Don’t be so desperate. Don’t be posting so much, just give a glimpse,'” said the beauty mogul. “I don’t know what the right thing to do is, I haven’t dated since before Instagram existed. I don’t know what the rules are.”

During the conversation, Kardashian also revealed that Pete Davidson has already got a handful of tattoos in her honor. “He has a few tattoos, a few cute ones that he got,” she said, stating that her favorite of the lot is one that says ‘My girl is a lawyer.’ Kardashian also shared that the comedian has gone one step beyond tattoos for her, and has had her name branded onto his chest to form a permanent scar. “He’s like, ‘I don’t want to be able to get rid of it or cover it up. I want it there as a scar on me.'”

Speculations over their relationship first sparked when the two were spotted holding hands in October 2021 when they went on a rollercoaster together at Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park, California. The same month saw the couple share an onscreen kiss during the entrepreneur’s Saturday Night Live debut.

The relationship follows a long legal battle for divorce from West since February 2021. “I very much desire to be divorced,” Kardashian had written to a Los Angeles Court. West has publicly remarked on Kardashian’s new relationship on social media, causing her to further expedite the divorce through court proceedings. “Mr West has disseminated on social media the parties’ private communications and misinformation about personal family matters and co-parenting, which has caused emotional distress,” read the court proceeding which declared Kardashian officially single on March 1.

Kardashian revealed that more on the couple’s beginnings and romantic journey thus far will be shown in the upcoming The Kardashians series premiering April 14 on Hulu.
