Cartier has released its newest high jewelry collection, Le voyage recommencé, in Florence. Over one hundred guests—including friend of the house, actress and activist Golshifteh Faharani, the face of the collection, conveyed at the Giardino Corsini to witness a joyful runway amidst a garden. Each piece spoke to the evolutive style vocabulary of the maison, founded in 1847. A multitude of jewels and gemstones including rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and mother of pearl adorned high jewelry necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. “The sense of beauty evolves,” says Pierre Rainero, Cartier Director of image, style, and heritage. “At Cartier, we are on a permanent search. Le voyage recommencé is a journey of shapes. The idea of geometry is very important in the history of our creations,” he continues, evoking Cartier’s history with Art Deco. “The geometry in these creations is entirely new. And it’s one that could only exist now. The culture of the eye has evolved considerably,” he furthers. “In our world, beauty is still an objective and there is an expectation for this and for innovation, something that creates a surprise. When people come to us, they want everything.”

Following the runway presentation, guests moved inside to sit at two long tables peppered with blooms. Following a welcome speech by Cartier CEO Cyril Vigneron, guests Tara Emad, Kiley Keough, Elle Fanning, Adrien Brody, Vanessa Kirby — face of the brand’s new La Panthere perfume campaign — and Pom Klementieff chatted about upcoming projects over a light fresh fish and pasta menu. The evening continued with a performance by English artist Labrinth with invitees enjoying light pasticcierie. The following DJ set made for the soiree’s biggest surprise, however. None other than Academy Award winning actor Adrien Brody took to the decks to spin . Playing for almost two hours, with partner Georgina Chapman looking on, Brody delighted the crowd with his range of reggae, French nostalgia, rap, and techno.

The night like no other followed a day of discovery at the Florentine Villa Reale di Marlia. The late renaissance palazzo, which used to host the likes of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, opened for the first time to Cartier. The French high jeweler filled its painted rooms with high jewelry from past collections, vintage pieces, and the new Le voyage recommencé collection for a veritable retrospective of the maison’s high jewelry in a setting cushioned with beauty at all angles. Throughout the property, experiences were offered ranging from a virtual opera by French actress and director Melanie Laurent, to a delicate symphony in Pan’s Grotto, and a lake filled with miniature Cartier sailboats. It was a day of dreams – and for a lucky few the dream will last in the form of a bejeweled memento from one of the world’s greatest high jewelers.
