How did Alex Rodriguez propose to Jennifer Lopez?
On 9 March 2019, Rodriguez got down on one knee and popped the question at sunset on a beach in the Bahamas.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, A-Rod spilled some details: “I planned it for about six months and it was on a beach in the Bahamas… I had the ring, but what was interesting… prior to me going down on one knee and getting engaged was, I rehearsed for three days in a row.”
Where did they have their engagement party?
On 27 September 2019, the couple threw an engagement party. A relatively low-key affair, the four-course dinner with family and friends was described as “beautifully elegant”.
Lopez shared details of the meal in an Instagram post, including a first course comprised of a salad of baby greens with Roquefort cheese, candied walnuts, apples, and pomegranate vinaigrette. The second course sounded just as delicious: pumpkin-squash tortellini with brown butter and sage. And the third course? A choice of potato-crusted seabass with romanesco, shaved autumn squashes, and moscato beurre blanc or roast chicken with truffle crushed potatoes and caramelized Brussels sprouts.
Has a wedding date been set?
No official wedding date has been set yet, but the big day will take place in 2020. Lopez has also shared some telling details. In a YouTube video from her tour, J Lo revealed that she be tying the knot “soon”: “Not soon soon, but — next year. I’d like a big wedding. And I’d like to get married in a church this time. I’ve never been married in a church.”
Will their children play a part on the big day?
Lopez has 11-year-old twins with her ex-husband Marc Anthony: Emme and Max. Rodriguez has two daughters with his former wife Cynthia Scurtis: 14-year-old Natasha and 11-year-old Ella. Lopez told E! that her son Max will be the one to walk her down the aisle.
