With her languid limbs stretched in front of a giant inflatable watermelon, Lebanese fine jeweler Sabine Getty stares confidently at the camera in a strapless tutti frutti printed swimsuit. To say it’s a look that will turn heads is an understatement. “I was so happy when Charlotte and Adriana asked me to model for this collab,” she gushes from her London abode. “I love their aesthetic and knew something really fun would come out of it. The pieces are so flattering and glamorous, with fun references to the 1950s.”

Adriana Degreas affirms that Getty embodies her jet-set clientele. “Sabine is intelligent, creative, confident, and a keen business woman, and she looks great in the collection.” The first capsule by Brazilian “bain couture” designer Degreas and half Brazilian shoe designer Charlotte Dellal (whose mother is former YSL model Andrea Magalhaes Viera) features an ensemble of one and two-pieces and robes in leopard print, tutti frutti appliqué, and lip silhouettes for women who like to dress up poolside. Case in point, the Degreas signature trompe l’oeil bikini sees its hands swapped for leopard paws.

“Charlotte and I have always admired each other’s personalities presented in both brands,” states Degreas of the complementary appeal. The designer has been introducing luxury beachwear, including silk printed separates and kaftans, around the globe since 2001. “I am a very aesthetic person,” she muses. “Innovative shaping techniques and details that have a strong personality are some of the key elements I look for in a swimsuit. What I like most is to bring the cool-chic Brazilian way of living with innovative shapes and timeless cuts to my ‘around the water’ days. I believe that the mix of these elements brings a special twist of the ‘Brazilian bossa’ to the pieces I create and wear, making them unique.”

Dellal has long favored a golden era expression translated through feline flats and island platforms. “Our creative process has a lot of synergy. We put our ideas together to make a chic, fun, vintage-inspired collection chaneling pin-up silhouettes.” The suits are made with Lycra, tulle, silk chiffon, and georgette in São Paulo. She states that while she might favor smaller styles when on the beaches of Ipanema in Brazil or Formentera in Spain, she looks to high-waisted retro silhouettes for a bit of glamour. Shaking out her signature blonde wavy hair, she offers a tip: slip on the gold leather pool slides with knotted Lycra to finish the look.
