‘Twas one of those fashion inevitabilities: Gucci’s new season sunglasses from the Spring 2017 collection have sold out already on Net-a-Porter. The luxury e-commerce site announced its month-long exclusive launch of Gucci’s four main sunglasses designs–ahead of other retailers–a mere three days ago.
Three of the four styles have already sold out. No wonder, as they were one of the most celebrated accessories in Alessandro Michele’s Spring 2017 runway offering, featuring GG signature emblem on the side, rich retro frames, and crafted in the maison’s native Italy.
The exaggerated Gucci optics and rhinestone-encrusted sunglasses have been a mainstay in Michele’s collections, appearing in pre-fall and spring campaigns alongside natty headscarves and turbans. With the immediate hype about the choice accessory hitting Instagram in a matter of seconds and the off-the-Richter scale luxe factor to the designs, we’re unsurprised to see a Sold Out stamp across the collection. Gucci is an undeniable tour de force under Michele’s direction, as the Italian brand continues its odyssey of flamboyance.
