Inside the Wedding Guest Wardrobes of Naomi Campbell and Izabel Goulart

This weekend the A-listers came out in full force – and in statement threads – to celebrate the wedding of Place Vendôme’s marketing manager Carol Sabbagha in Beirut, Lebanon.

For the guests in attendance at the Chateau Rweiss soirée, Arab designers led the charge on the fashion front with Izabel Goulart sporting a Zuhair Murad Couture creation and supermodel Naomi Campbell switching from her Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture dress to a Hussein Bazaza creation from the Lebanese designer and DDFC/Vogue Fashion Prize 2015 winner’s Fall 2017 collection.

Speaking to Vogue Arabia Bazaza reflected, “It felt amazing. It’s the first time I ever dressed an international celebrity, and it turned out to be Naomi! She’s an icon. I grew up watching her own the runways. I never thought I’d dress her in a million years.” Bazaza described to Vogue Arabia, “It happened because Naomi was coming to Beirut to attend Carol’s wedding, who happens to be a good friend of mine and Mohieb Dahabieh’s [Naomi’s stylist and Vogue Arabia contributor]. Dahabieh went to my showroom and selected two dresses from my latest Fall 2017 collection,” explained the designer. “She ended up settling on the red and black one. It didn’t have to be custom-tweaked or anything.”

The future looks bright for this Lebanese designer who is stocked on FarFetch and Moda Operandi, “I’m working on something very exciting at the moment. We’re preparing to do an exhibition in Beirut to showcase the Spring collection. We haven’t set the date yet, but it’ll be sometime in October.”

As the bridal brigade gathered for photographs, the dress code was clearly of a high standard. Vogue cover girl Naomi added extra va-va-voom to her Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture dress, with its thigh-grazing feature and asymmetric shoulder, with a deftly-placed headdress.

Tamara Ralph, the creative director of Ralph & Russo, was also in attendance at the wedding. The maison, also directed by Michael Russo, is the first British brand to join the prestigious Chambre Syndicale for Haute Couture. See the full Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture collection here.

Model Izabel Goulart attended the ceremony wearing a backless Zuhair Murad Couture creation and completed the floor-sweeping look with soft beachy waves and a congratulatory smile, which was the best accessory of all.

Mabrouk to the happy couple!
