As 2017 draws to a close, Vogue Arabia looks ahead to the New Year with a fresh cover star. Nancy Ajram is the face of January 2018 and champions a less-is-more sartorial approach to power dressing. Wearing a wardrobe of Noon by Noor, Prada, Burberry, and Pringle of Scotland, the Lebanese superstar features as you’ve never seen her before; with minimal makeup and understated styling to emphasize her star power and gravitas.
As the multi-award winning singer and mother of two ushers in the New Year with a confident style direction, she shares with Vogue what’s new and next in a intimate interview with Zeina Berjawi. Ajram’s career spans twenty years over – with over 30 million albums sold – the chart-topping artist rose to fame with albums Ya Salam (2003) and Ah W Noss (2004). Speaking to Vogue Arabia exclusively about her family life, career, and social media (she has 14.1 million followers on Insta, no less), Ajram reveals, “My aim is not to show off, but to share with my fans precious moments of my everyday life and my career.” With a wardrobe lined with Georges Hobeika, Elie Saab, and an impressive armoury of denim staples for off-duty days, the star talked Vogue through her wardrobe and world at her Beirut home. The star also reveals that her husband is her closest friend and confidant. She trusts his advice on all things, including ones relating to her music career, “because he loves my success and cares for it.” Having completed a concert this Fall 2017 in Dubai and with two music videos slated in for filming dates, Ajram is as busy and focused as ever. Also inside the issue, Egyptian star swimmer Farida Osman talks to Vogue as she preps for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, and Egyptian actress Reham Abdel Gahfour is the New Year It girl, and Menna Shalaby talks exclusively to Vogue about her career.
