On Saturday night, the 18th annual Murex D’or awards celebrated the best of the Pan-Arab world’s music, film and television talent. Held in Beirut’s Casino du Liban, Lebanon, the star-studded ceremony honored 38 prominent personalities from the region. Nadine Labaki took home the Best Director award for her Oscar-nominated work, Capharnaum. Egyptian pop-star Tamer Hosny who recently took the stage at the Special Olympics Abu Dhabi World Games, won the Best Male Arab Singer award. The award for the Best Female Arab Singer was received by Egyptian singer Angham for her new album “Hala Khasa Gedan”.
The red carpet at the awards also saw some incredible fashion moments with celebrities championing regional designers for the big night. Egyptian superstar Nelly Karim made an appearance dressed in a gown by her favorite designer, Mohanad Kojak and won the Best Arab Actress award for her role in the series “Disappearance”.
