Mouawad has a legacy of producing extraordinary jewels – and the 127-year-old jeweler has once again made history by unveiling the world’s most expensive jewelry box. The 18-karat gold handcrafted wonder is covered with a colorful medley of precious stones, including white and yellow diamonds totaling 542.39 carats. The box also features 293.24 carats of white and pink sapphires, 20.06 carats of rubies, and 1 799.75 carats of lapis lazuli. Topped with the brand’s signature flower motif of heart-shaped petals, the artisanal masterpiece clocks in at US $3.5 million.

This is not the heritage brand’s first foray into the Guinness World Records. In 2003, it crafted the most expensive bra, which was worn by Heidi Klum for Victoria’s Secret fashion show. It’s also credited for the most valuable handbag ever made – a heart-shape minaudière named the Mouawad 1001 Nights Diamond purse that’s pavéd with white, yellow, and pink diamonds – and a record-breaking necklace featuring an eye-blinding 407.48-carat flawless yellow diamond pendant. Just imagine storing the striking piece in an equally mesmerizing jewelry box.
