As host of the 70th Cannes Film Festival 2017, Monica Bellucci kick-started the proceedings on May 17 with not one but three slick outfits in 24 hours. Every leading lady needs to remain in character so her day look followed the principle of the capsule wardrobe: be cohesive and stick to a theme. Bellucci’s three looks from AM to PM were head-to-toe black and navy ensembles with fuss-free silhouettes, all deftly conservative with floor-grazing hemlines, and long sleeves.
AM Look #1:
Outfit number one for the actor and host was a Stella McCartney flared jumpsuit with a brooch pinning together the architectural look.
PM Look #2:
The Italian actor opted for an embellished wide-neck black dress for the opening gala dinner with side-swept hair channeling silver screen chameleons.
PM Look #3:
At the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès ceremony, Bellucci slipped into a Dior Haute Couture gown in navy tulle that she wore with Cartier jewelry and amplified eye makeup.
The fashion take-home here? If you’re going to switch up your look for 24 hours of events, do so with a style theme that makes the outfit transitions a breeze; the colors du jour being classic carbon black and navy.
