They parted ways in 2016 after an 18-month romance, before rekindling the flame earlier this year – and Bella Hadid and The Weeknd appear to be stronger than ever. The A-list couple, who have showcased their reconciliation on social media in recent months, are set to move in together, according to reports.
Multiple sources confirmed to TMZ that the R&B musician, born Abel Tesfaye, asked the 22-year-old model to share his New York City apartment, with the catwalk icon swiftly saying yes. The Weeknd has recently signed a lease on a US $60,000-a-month property in Tribeca, W reports, into which Hadid will move. The couple will only add to the Hollywood pedigree of the New York building, which is already home to stars including Harry Styles, Jessica Biel, and Justin Timberlake. The Weeknd also owns a property in California, though it is likely the couple will make the Big Apple their base, as Hadid and her elder sister Gigi have lived in the city for some time.
The power couple’s relationship has gone from strength to strength since they reunited, with the Toronto-born musician recently helping the model ring in her 22nd birthday. Joined by Hadid’s friends and family, Tesfaye helped make Hadid’s special day particularly touching, the runway icon revealed in a gushing social media post.
“I know I’m a lil late but I’m still in shock thinking about my birthday this year,” she wrote on Instagram earlier this month alongside a series of candid snapshots from the party. “I’ve never felt so much love & happiness. Thank u to my baby, my beautiful family and friends for making this surprise so special. This was the best day ever (ever) .. thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. I feel so lucky, I can’t believe it.”
