Bella Hadid Turns an Abu Dhabi Desert Adventure into a Fashion Moment

She jetted into the UAE to support her partner, The Weeknd, at his after-race concert at this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – however Bella Hadid wasn’t leaving all the on-track action to the F1 drivers. The half-Palestinian model made the most of her whistle-stop trip to the Emirates by setting aside some time for sightseeing, heading into the desert with her R&B musician beau.

The couple took control of a pair of quad bikes to traverse the sandy terrain, sharing Instagram snaps and Stories with their combined 41 million followers. Fearless Hadid gamely drove the ATV over the dunes, though revealed on her social media account she’d previously suffered an injury on one of the vehicles. “I have a scar on my face from when I flipped this thing when I was 6,” the face of Dior Beauty captioned a clip.

The 22-year-old star also showed why she’s one of the world’s most in-demand models, striking a pose on top of the bike. Sporting high-waisted combat pants, white sneakers, a knotted, short-sleeved crop top, and a slick of lipstick for her outdoor adventure, Hadid proved that you don’t need to dress down for thrill-seeking sports. The couple also rode camels and tried their hand at sand boarding before departing the desert, according to their social media feeds.

The couple’s excursion comes just days after The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, slayed his on-stage performance at the Yasalam After-Race Concert. Hadid supported her rekindled flame backstage, gushing about his set on her Instagram account. “Always a fan girl at heart,” she wrote, accompanied by a photo of herself grinning ear-to-ear at the show. During the F1 weekend, Hadid also got the chance to reunite with her extended family who live in Dubai. The model uploaded a series of images on Instagram of herself embracing her cousin and nieces, who made the trip to Abu Dhabi to see The Weeknd perform. In one of the photos, the Call Out My Name singer is seen signing autographs for the girls, to go with their personally signed drumsticks.

“Truly such a special night. I only get to see my beautiful cousin Reema and nieces Salma and Aya when I’m in Dubai, and they drove up for the show in Abu Dhabi. Made my whole year, I feel so lucky! Such a great show,” Hadid captioned the images, declaring that Abu Dhabi is one of her favorite places in the world.
