He marked his 70th birthday on November 6, and while Mohamed Hadid was likely inundated with well wishes, some of the most touching came from his next generation. The property developer, of Palestinian heritage, was feted on social media on his special day by his youngest daughters, fellow models Gigi and Bella, who each shared sweet throwbacks with their darling dad.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, 23-year-old Gigi wished her “amazing day” the most wonderful of days, adding that the mogul “has never stopped cracking me (and yourself) up”. The star added a black-and-white image of herself as a toddler with her father, as she bursts into laughter, taken when she was just a toddler. “Love you more than words can say and can’t wait to celebrate you this week,” the Messika collaborator added.
Her younger sister also posted a childhood snap with Hadid as the pair shared a snack, with a young (blonde) Bella perched on her father’s lap. “Happy birthday sweet Baba. Thank you for being your hysterical, generous, kind, loving, talented self,” the face of Dior Beauty wrote. “I love you so much, and I just can’t wait to see you in a few days.”
Bella has previously spoken about how her father, who holds Jordanian and American citizenship, has taught her to be proud of her heritage. “He was always religious, and he always prayed with us. I am proud to be a Muslim,” the model told Porter magazine last year.
