They rekindled their romance earlier this summer, and now Hailey Baldwin looks set to say “I do” to Justin Bieber. The American model and Canadian singer are engaged, according to multiple reports, after the Sorry star got down on one knee during a recent trip to the Bahamas.

The alleged proposal occurred at a luxury resort on Saturday night, with 24-year-old Bieber popping the question over dinner, according to the BBC. While the couple have not confirmed the betrothal, their respective families have hinted at its authenticity. “Proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!” Justin’s father, Jeremy Bieber, posted on Instagram, alongside a shot of his son. Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, also alluded to the engagement, excitedly writing on Twitter: “Love Love Love Love Love Love Love.”

A source confirmed the news to Peoplerevealing the engagement was “kind of a surprise, but kind of not”. “Justin has been extremely happy these past few weeks. He has known Hailey for a long time. This might seem sudden, but they know each other very well.” The pair was first introduced by the 21-year-old model’s father, actor Stephen Baldwin, back in 2011, when they were just teens. They dated in 2016, before restarting their relationship this summer. Baldwin opened up about their rekindled romance in May, telling The Times the two had been “friends for a long time”.

“I met him when I was really young and he was one of my best friends. Everybody knows that at a certain point in time that turned into something else, but that just happens when you’re 18, 19. It was what it was. We went through a long period of time when we weren’t friends. We didn’t speak for quite some time and there was a lot of weirdness that went on. We’ve moved past that.” Mabrouk to the happy couple!
