Hot off the heels of Prada’s announcement that Raf Simons would join the heritage fashion house as co-creative director after its Fall/Winter 20 presentation last week, one can only guess what may be revealed during Miuccia Prada‘s contemporary label Miu Miu‘s Paris Fashion Week show later today, March 3. Although Simons will equally design men and women collections for Prada starting Spring 2021, it should come as no surprise that the former Calvin Klein director will not be involved in designing for Miu Miu, considering the “unconventional spirit” Prada has channeled into her younger label.

Often portrayed as Prada’s departure from the traditional styling of her heritage house, Miu Miu is a way for the legendary designer to embrace a liberated form of creativity grounded in free-spirited femininity and independence. Case in point: The Italian house’s spring/summer 20 collection. Retro Italian glamor filled the runway with pleated pinafores and ruffled blouses while leather skirts and off-the-shoulder sweaters added a touch of modern-day allure. However, sustainability was the undercover trend at the show, with fully recyclable sets made from wood and many silhouettes composed of raw, simple fabrics.

Catch the Miu Miu FW20 show today, March 2 at 2:30 pm Paris time (5:30 pm UAE time/4:30 pm KSA time) through the livestream below.
