Mira Hayek, who launched her namesake label in 2011 following stints at Elie Saab and Erdem where she honed her skills, has firmly established herself as a first-rate designer, and her latest offering is further proof. The 2016 DDFC/Vogue Fashion Prize ready-to-wear finalist and two-time Woolmark Prize Middle East nominee has unveiled her Spring 2018 ready-to-wear collection with Vogue.me.
Entitled “Sundance”, the womenswear range offers an array of versatile dresses and separates that can easily be incorporated into the wardrobe for a playful update. The designs feature a feminine color palette that comprises of washes of red, mint green, and pastel peach, flanked by monochromatic white and black hues. A dazzling silver slip dress and gold overlay with matching flared trousers make for party-ready ensembles.
Those aren’t the only highlights in the collection, there are several: The “Sundance dress” is an ultra-cozy design that can double as a printed kaftan or summer gown. Meanwhile, the stone top would pair equally as well with a pair of high-waisted jeans as it would with its coordinating skirt.
Inspired by American artist duo Adam Frezza and Terri Chiao, the collection was photographed by Sam Rawadi on location in Hayek’s home country of Lebanon. The offering is available for purchase at the Starch Foundation’s concept store STARCHed, which houses all 12 of the Starch Foundation alumni under one roof in Beirut.
