New York Fashion Week is well underway with many of the world’s leading designers unveiling their long-awaited Fall/Winter 2020 collections on the runways of America’s prestigious fashion capital. Iconic designer Michael Kors, who is often championed for his easily translatable runway-to-street ensembles under his eponymous American label, is sure to have a few surprises up his sleeve as one of the last shows scheduled for this season. Taking place at the American Stock Exchange Building in the heart of Manhattan, the minimalist stage in this heritage destination has already been teased on the brand’s Instagram page, in addition to a few key pieces. A series of MKC Monogramme bags set to become the newest must-have accessories will make its debut tonight in a variety of day or night silhouettes, from bowler and duffel to crossbody and tote.
Last year, Kors embarked on an amusing journey to the 70s during his unforgettable FW19 presentation, complete with a live finale performance by Copacabana (At the Copa) crooner Barry Manilow. Models donned over 70 looks reminiscent of the beloved dance party era with brightly-hued boas, sequin T-shirt dresses, and a metallic suit.
