Fashion’s biggest night finally arrived with a much-needed dose of couture and high fashion that was missed in New York last year. After being postponed in 2020 due to Covid-19, the Met Gala kicked off on the evening of September 13 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with a star-studded guest list. On the red carpet, A-list attendees dressed up to showcase the best of American style, in line with Costume Institute’s newest exhibition, In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, which opens on September 18. They included co-chairs Billie Eilish, Timothée Chalamet, Naomi Osaka, and Amanda Gorman, Met Gala veterans Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez, and many more Hollywood stars, models, and musicians.
