The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are back in town. This morning, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived at St Paul’s Cathedral in London to attend the National Service of Thanksgiving. It marks the first time the couple has made a public appearance in the United Kingdom since taking a “step back” from royal duties in 2020.

Markle wore a white, belted coat with a matching hat, while Prince Harry wore a classic morning suit adorned with medals for his military service. After chatting with service members on the steps of the historic cathedral, they took their seats in the second row inside, next to Princess Eugenie and Beatrice.

The mass honored Queen Elizabeth’s 70th year on the throne. Also in attendance? Other members of the royal family, like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as government figures such as Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former British leaders Theresa May and Tony Blair.

Yesterday, they watched the Trooping the Colour from the Major General’s Office. Cameras captured the couple animatedly talking with the children of Harry’s cousin, Zara Tindall. Markle wore an off-the-shoulder navy dress by Roland Mouret with a matching hat by Stephen Jones.

Despite the couple’s high-profile status, so far, they’ve kept things relatively low-key during the Queen’s jubilee events. This is the first clear sighting in London they have since arriving earlier this week, suggesting that they’re focused on keeping the attention on Queen Elizabeth during her milestone weekend. Unfortunately, the monarch pulled out of the service last minute due to mobility issues, but is expected to be watching from her home at Windsor Castle.
