It’s been over six years since Prince Harry proposed to Meghan Markle and her engagement ring continues to be a statement.
According to a recent research by British jeweler Ramsden’s Jewellery, the Duchess of Sussex‘s three-stone diamond engagement ring is still the most searched-for celebrity engagement ring worldwide. This research, which examined data on worldwide search volume over the previous 12 months, revealed that Meghan’s ring led to an average of 51,283 searches every month.
The famous sapphire and diamond ring that Princess Diana wore, and that Meghan’s sister-in-law Kate Middleton currently wears came in second at 22,100 average global searches per month. The engagement rings of celebrities like Millie Bobby Brown, Hailey Bieber, and Megan Fox came in second and third, rounding out the top five most-searched rings.
After the couple’s May 2018 wedding, royal fans noticed an update to Meghan’s ring in May 2019, A slight yet noticeable change was added when it seemed as though the three diamonds had been reset from the original solid yellow gold band to a thin micro-pave band.
Meghan frequently stacks her eternity band, a gift from Harry on their first anniversary in 2019 with her Welsh gold wedding band and her engagement ring. She did, however, take a little break from wearing her engagement ring last year while the ring was being serviced due to its loose setting, according to sources.
Prince Harry collaborated with Cleave and Company, Queen Elizabeth’s jewelers, to design Meghan’s engagement ring. The ring features a center diamond from Botswana, a place of profound significance for the couple, marking the early days of their romance. In November 2017, Harry said to the BBC during their engagement interview that he chose to incorporate his late mother’s jewelry into Meghan’s engagement ring as a means of guaranteeing her influence throughout their journey together. Meghan showed her appreciation for Harry’s thought-out design, calling the ring “beautiful” and “incredible.”
