Meghan Markle Chooses Stella McCartney for the Royal Reception

Hours after walking down the aisle of St.George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle wearing a Givenchy couture dress designed by Clare Waight Keller, the newly-christened Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle changed into an equally stunning dress for the evening reception. The new bride arrived to Frogmore House with her husband Prince Harry (in a 1968 silver blue Jaguar convertible, naturally) wearing an ivory, high-neck, silk crepe gown designed by Stella McCartney. The bride accessorized the shoulder-baring dress with a pair of satin Aquazurra pumps with nude mesh detailing and baby blue soles for “something blue”. She wore a set of diamond Cartier earrings to punctate the look.

Markle’s new sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge also wore two dresses, both designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, for her 2011 nuptials to Prince William.  The evening reception is an intimate soirée hosted by Prince Charles for 200 of the couple’s family members and close friends— as opposed to the 600 guests that attended the royal ceremony, which included Oprah Winfrey, Priyanka Chopra, Amal and George Clooney, and Markle’s former Suits co-stars.
