Meghan Markle’s Affordable Dress Makes the Case for Bold Fall Color

Following her appearance in the revealing TV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, Meghan Markle stepped out today in London without her usual princely escort to attend the One Young World Summit. For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex rewore a favorite dress of hers, giving the boldly colorful—and affordable!—piece a brand new feel.

The frock in question was Aritzia’s purple long-sleeved Babaton Maxwell dress in a matte satin, which retails for under $50 (although is currently sold out). The loud pop of color was a refreshing change for Markle whose wardrobe typically tends towards more muted colors. Back in January, she wore the same dress in an equally eye-popping way when she paired it with a fiery red coat by the Canadian brand Sentaler. But this time around she let her dress do all the talking, accessorizing only with a dainty ring and blue suede pumps with a sturdy block heel—another Markle favorite.
