The Duchess of Sussex Glows in Oscar De La Renta in First Appearance Since Announcing She’s Pregnant

A little over a week ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared the happy news that they’re expecting a second child – and that Archie will become a big brother later this year. For the announcement on Valentine’s Day, Vogue contributing photographer Misan Harriman captured a photograph of the couple reclining under a tree, with Harry resting his hand on Meghan’s head as she lay in his lap cradling her bump. Now, the couple has made their first public appearance together since then – and they couldn’t look happier.

Speaking as part of Spotify Stream On, the pair discussed the Archewell Audio podcast that they launched last year on the platform. During the short clip, Meghan speaks about the importance of “using podcasts to drive powerful conversations”, with Prince Harry adding that they have the power to “inspire, challenge and educate”.

Meghan, who wore an Oscar de la Renta Citrus Primavera dress, and showed off cascading mermaid waves, continued: “We created Archewell Audio to make sure we can elevate voices that maybe aren’t being heard, and hear people’s stories.” With Harry adding: “And the biggest part of this is trying to create this community of where you can share, that will encourage everybody else to then share their own vulnerabilities in that safe space.”

Their appearance comes after it was confirmed they will not resume their roles as working members of the royal family. Their decision to step back from their duties was left open to review after 12 months, but the Duke and Duchess have committed to their decision to pursue independent roles while living in their adopted home of Montecito, California. A statement issued on behalf of the couple said: “As evidenced by their work over the past year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain committed to their duty and service to the UK and around the world, and have offered their continued support to organisations they have represented regardless of official role. We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”
