Nature Inspired Massimo Dutti’s Latest Collection (and Here’s Why it Matters)

For its SS19 collection, Massimo Dutti looked towards nature to inspire both its women’s and men’s lines. Think minimalist silhouettes in earthy tones that keep environmental consciousness in mind with raw materials that have been responsibly sourced.

The collection — called “By Numbers” — comes to life in a campaign shot by photographer Lachlan Bailey in the grasslands of Savanna. Helmed by creative director Atelier Franck Durand, this selection aspires to bring in a new era in fashion that straddles respect for tradition and the revolution of style.

The womenswear line offers feminine sheer dresses, crisp cotton shorts in shades of off-white, beige cropped trousers, and brown shorts. For men, there is a strong focus on linen giving way to sharp jackets, shirts, and trousers. A palette of nature-inspired colors takes over the men’s collection in colors like green, ochre, and maroon.
