Massimo Dutti Embraces a Modern Take on Tailoring for Shanghai Show

Shanghai is a city where tradition and modernity intertwine, where neon-lit skyscrapers overlook the Maglev train – traveling at speeds of up to 430km/h – and the tranquil tree-lined streets of the French Concession alike. It has energy, spirit, and style. Which is why Massimo Dutti returned to the city for the second time to present its Limited Edition Fall 2019 collection, in a dynamic industrial area-turned-artistic hub close to the Bund, the city’s popular pedestrian waterfront.

“The Art of Reflections” runway show played with light and shadows, with celebrities and influencers including Dakota Fanning, Luke Evans, and Lana El Sahely almost taking the attention away from the looks on the catwalk. Models walked the circular runway reflected in water, playing with silhouettes and perceptions. And the clothes? Business wear with a seriously edgy twist – angular, structured shoulders paired with languid pants, apron skirts under sharp utility jackets, soft, sky-blue coats with jewel-toned slouchy leather boots. In short, a wearable, fresh collection with chic, modern details for both men and women.
