Footwear designer Amina Muaddi will be joining Vogue Arabia Editor-in-Chief Manuel Arnaut for the fourth episode of our weekly series “Manuel Arnaut in Conversation With…” On May 11, at 4.30pm (UAE time), tune in for yet another fascinating exchange as Arnaut speaks to the Paris-based designer and entrepreneur live via Instagram Live on @voguearabia.
Having launched her eponymous shoe brand in 2018, Amina Muaddi has quickly grown her label to become one of the most in-demand footwear brands on the fashion radar, with fans including Vogue Arabia cover stars Gigi Hadid and Hailey Bieber. While combining centuries of shoe-making expertise with a modern global fashion perspective has generated huge success for the brand, Muaddi remains practical. “We could have bigger numbers, but I think it’s fundamental today not to oversell or over distribute,” she previously shared with Vogue Arabia. “We are lucky because everybody wants our product, but we don’t want to give it to everybody. My client needs to feel like what she owns is luxurious and unique and not everyone can have it.”
Tune in to hear how the Jordanian designer developed an eye for what tastemakers around the world truly want as she discusses her journey to success, her thinking behind the signature pyramidal heels, and how she grabbed the attention of Rihanna, who has commissioned Muaddi to design shoes for her luxury Maison Fenty. Have a question for the designer? Send it to us at ask@vogue.me for a chance to have it answered. Hosted weekly, “Manuel Arnaut In Conversation With…” forms part of Vogue Arabia’s ongoing #StayHome campaign through which we not only encourage safe practices but also aim to inform and entertain our readers while they do the right thing and stay home.
