Emirati model and designer Nadya Hasan teamed up with Parisian fashion house Maje to shoot its limited-edition collection in honor of Eid Al-Adha, in the Gold Souk in Dubai. The four-piece evening capsule is the brand’s third special collection for the Middle East and will be available in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Al Faisaliah Mall and the Assila Tower, and in the United Arab Emirates at Marina Mall, City Walk, Yas Mall, The Dubai Mall, and Robinsons. This Maje capsule includes two dresses with voluminous silhouettes in black tulle, topped off with ocher sequins clustered together as floral arrangements. Two skirts complete the offering, in a mini version or a midi style with peek-a-boo sheer layers.

The premium ready-to-wear brand has not taken a surprise departure from its classic DNA here: the look is decidedly feminine, with a flare of look-at-me design twists. There’s an undeniably Western signature to the collection, but black and gold motifs touch on the sensibilities of the region with effortless glamour.

Hasan styles this blend well – one look at her Instagram account of 153 000 followers and you’ll see a smorgasbord of international and regional designers mingled together seamlessly. Could an eagle-eyed fashion Sherlock have anticipated this Maje collaboration? Perhaps. Hasan was sunning herself in the Bahamas wearing head-to-toe pieces from the maison in May and teamed up with Maje for its second Middle Eastern line in Paris. There’s clearly a creative synergy there. But here the mantra is focused and clear: it’s never too early to plan next Eid’s outfits. Hear, hear.
The Maje Eid Al-Adha capsule collection will be available in KSA and the UAE from the end of August.
