Maison Alaïa Launches its First Eyewear Collection

Just months after the fashion world lost beloved Tunisian couturier Azzedine Alaïa in November, the Maison unveils its newest collection for the house, and surprisingly, it is not clothing. For the first time, Maison Alaïa introduces an eyewear collection produced in partnership with Kering Eyewear (the company that develops and distributes eyewear for Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Alexander McQueen, among others).

The collection features six distinct styles that we can certainly picture on It girls the world over. Featuring different colorways that shift from nude to black and a variety of shapes, including oval, square, and round, each design captures the essence of Monsieur Alaïa’s craftsmanship and attention to details. Micro-studs decorate the frames, meanwhile the ubiquitous laser pattern is ever so present.

The eyewear collection is the newest addition to the maison’s expansive range of ready-to-wear, couture, fragrance, and leather accessories. Of course, it comes as no surprise that the house built by the iconic couturier will go on. In December, the maison released a statement stating it would continue Alaïa‘s legacy.

Peruse the slides ahead to get a first look at the striking eyewear before you’ll be seeing it all over your Instagram feeds.

The Alaïa Spring 2018 Eyewear Collection starts at AED/SAR 1,983 and will be available across all points of sales in the Middle East from March.
