With Paris Fashion Week almost halfway over and many brands finished with their Fall/Winter 2020 presentations, it’s a bittersweet time of the year. Luckily, Loewe is scheduled to unveil their upcoming season today, February 28 and we couldn’t be more excited to see what the Spanish house has in store for FW20 after a series of campaign shots were released on Instagram over the past few days.

With creative director Jonathan Anderson at the helm and photographer Steven Meisel behind the lens, the latest collaboration features American professional soccer player Megan Rapinoe “convey an idea of expressive extremism” through headshots with “dynamic gestures”, according to an official release.

To coincide with the fast-approaching show, Loewe also released two new installments as part of its “For Real” film series starring the magenta-haired captain of the victorious 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup US team.

“People talk about change like it’s some abstract thing. It’s not. It’s every day,” said Rapinoe in one of the clips. “It doesn’t have to be this abstract, big thing where you have to change the world all at one time. It’s not possible. You can’t. It’ll never be the way perfectly we want it to be, but it can be better and we can just be better. Every day…Be that change. See that change. Feel that change.”

With the athlete cum outspoken activist as the face of the Fall/Winter season’s campaign, it seems Loewe is not one to shy away from commenting on topics prevalent to contemporary society. It wouldn’t be surprising if the luxury label uses this presentation today as another opportunity to speak up on a widely watched platform, and with a teaser including sounds of crackling fires, clanking metal, and cranking motors, it already seems the next collection will be a far cry from the previous season‘s 17th-century romantic escapism.

To watch the FW20 collection debut, tune in to the Loewe livestream below today, February 28 at 12:30 pm UAE time/11:30 am KSA time.
