After producing and starring in a few Netflix films, Lindsay Lohan is officially in her big movie comeback era with the newly-announced Freaky Friday sequel.

Every comeback calls for a noteworthy wardrobe and a series of incredible style moments, and Lindsay Lohan just offered the world her first of many this week. At the Disney Legends awards in California, which announced the highly-awaited sequel of Freak Friday named Freakier Friday, Lohan stunned in a mint green gown as a taster of what’s to come when she officially starts promoting the film. The actor was styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn—the duo behind all of Jennifer Lopez’s winning looks—who paired the breezy Jil Sander number with silver accessories, including a sparkling Tyler Ellis clutch.

With method dressing all the rage now, it’s safe to say that Lohan may join Zendaya and Blake Lively in taking a page out of the style book of her character, which will be portrayed as a grown-up woman. A statement from the Walt Disney Company describes the sequel as a “multigenerational twist,” with the story picking up years after the body swap between Jamie Lee Curtis’ Tess and Lohan’s Anna, who now has a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter of her own. Will this growth mean the character swapping out her pop-rock style for more sensible mom outfits? Only the 2025 release of the film will tell.
Lohan’s latest public appearance suggests that it may not be all that hard for the 38-year-old star to step into her character’s shoes, seeing as she too has come a long way in the 20 years since the film’s release. After moving to Dubai to enjoy a quieter life free from paparazzi, Lohan married Kuwaiti financier Bader Shammas, with whom she welcomed her first child, a son named Luai born in July 2023.
