With awards season in full swing, we have seen many iconic celebrities take to the red carpet wearing stunning outfits by some of the world’s biggest designers. The 25th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards which took place in Santa Monica, California was no different as A-listers dazzled in creations by Arab designers for the big night.
American pop star Jennifer Lopez cut a striking figure in a curve-hugging gown designed by Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika while Awkwafina turned heads on the red carpet in a beautiful yellow gown by another Lebanese designer Elie Saab. The American actor and rapper had been nominated for the award of the best actress for her role in the movie The Farewell.
Singer-songwriter and actress Mandy Moore who recently released her new single I’d Rather Lose ditched the gown and made an appearance in a chic jumpsuit by Saab. Another star to champion a Lebanese designer was actor Kennedy McMann of Nancy Drew fame who wore a dreamy pink dress by the Beirut-based couturier Georges Chakra. This isn’t the first award ceremony of the new year where Arab designers have shone brightly. Lebanese designers Zuhair Murad, Georges Chakra, Georges Hobeika, Lebanese design duo Azzi & Osta and Elie Saab dressed stars like Peaky Blinders actor Annabelle Wallis, Arrow actor Janina Gavankar, and the Game of Thrones actor Rose Leslie for the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
