Born in Houston and raised between Jeddah and Beirut (with various moves in between), the pocket-sized Dalia Nsouli is a citizen of the world. But she’s not only that: a mother, wife, Head of Global Corporates at an English bank and popular influencer, Nsouli is an expert multi-tasker. Her Instagram feed features picture-after-picture of artfully curated looks, designer statements effortlessly mixed-and-matched with vacation buys and one-off vintage finds. An anti-trend activist, she has garnered an individual style bolstered by her sense of adventure and carefree spirit, preferring to take risks rather than follow the pack…
My home: “…because it means a lot to me – it’s the house we moved to when I became pregnant and it’s where we are raising our young family. We’ve filled it with pieces of furniture and decoration brought back with us from our vacations. The carpets and sofa cushions are from Marrakesh, the light fixtures are from Beirut, the plates are from Italy and all over the world, and the little statues are from Houston, where I was born. So I guess you could say it’s filled with memories from where we’ve been and who we are.”
Shoe collection: “I’m particularly proud of this (and maybe also a bit ashamed!). Less than a quarter of my shoes are pictured here. I’m a massive hoarder but I also don’t usually buy things I might end up regretting so my shoes last forever. I’ve got pairs that are almost 15 years-old in my collection. I have a weakness for shoes that I’ve just learned to accept, rather than fix or fight…no-one is perfect.”
Our art collection: “This picture shows part of the art collection I own with my husband, which focuses on contemporary Arab artists. There are pieces by Jouni, Guiragossian, Onsi and Laure Ghorayeb, all of whom are Lebanese greats. Art is something my husband and I really bond over and enjoy collecting.”
Vintage jackets: “I love these jackets and blazers because I absolutely love vintage. Not only because is it ‘green’ [to shop vintage], but because the 80s and 90s were so much cooler! Pieces are loud, bright and powerful, and above all, unique.”
Egyptian movie posters: “I love to collect originals, not copies – they’re very old. There’s a small store in Lebanon that sources and sells them and I always make a point to visit it when I’m back home. I’ve got many posters and change the ones that are framed every once in a while – they totally change the vibe of my bedroom.”
Belts, belts, belts: “I have a mad love for belts and almost never leave home without one. A quick look at my Instagram account is proof of this. They totally make an outfit pop and take it to the next level.”
