Talk about planning ahead. Law Roach and Zendaya have been making fashion magic together for years and years, from movie premieres to the Met Gala. No matter what Zendaya has on her agenda, Roach is there not only as her stylist and image architect but as her friend. The two plan everything, and no teeny tiny detail goes unnoticed. It’s a habit Roach hopes to continue when he’s no longer with us, as he revealed that he’s even planned Zendaya’s outfit for his funeral.
In true Law Roach fashion, he’s already planned much of his funeral service and is even setting money aside for the event — and, obviously, Zendaya will be a key player on that day. As noted by BuzzFeed News, Roach shared the plans on the Fashion Radio podcast, saying, “I already told Zendaya, you have to have on a sickening black skirt set.”
He said the goal is a “vintage Alexander McQueen for Givenchy with a big hat, with the veil.” He even has a moodboard of sorts to help her out when he’s gone. “I’ve told her the references: Coretta Scott King at Martin Luther King’s funeral. It’s a thing.” Honestly, though it sounds maudlin at first, it’s quite sweet!
Roach wants his funeral to run for more than five hours and hopes two major divas — Mariah Carey and his client Celine Dion — will perform. “I have the budget set aside to pay them to perform.”
Of course, hopefully this is an event that occurs far, far, far away in the future; Roach is currently 45 years old, so fingers crossed that we are blessed with many more decades of his work. But just FYI for anyone who may be invited to said event: “There is a dress code,” Roach shared. We wouldn’t expect anything less!
