The streets of New York have witnessed one show-stopping look after another by Lady Gaga, ever since the star arrived in The Big Apple. Keeping her streak going, the singer stepped out last night in a dazzling number by Georges Hobeika, marking it the first time she has worn the Lebanese designer’s creation.
Styled by Sandra Amador, Gaga opted for the dress after her performance with Tony Bennett at their three-night concert at the Radio City Music Hall. The custom-gown sparkled as she stepped out to meet fans, with the crystals and floral appliqués that covered the entire piece reflecting light from the paparazzi’s camera flashes. Featuring a plunging neckline and a ruffled hem, the dress made Gaga look every bit the Golden Age diva she had been channeling during her shows with Bennett. “Gaga has a huge part in my heart,” shared Hobeika with Vogue Arabia. “She taught us to love and acceptance for all, no matter what. Designing this fully crystallized black iridescent masterpiece was a pleasure and dream come to life.”

As the perfect accessory to complement the glitzy dress, Hobeika created a white feathered scarf which can be seen in his sketch for the look. While the singer didn’t step out with the scarf, backstage photos and videos show Gaga posing with Bennett with the accessory glamorously wrapped around her body.

The House of Gucci star is not the only one to champion Arab talent this week. After keeping her Instagram followers up to date with her birthday getaway in breezy, summer looks, Jennifer Lopez made a return to glam in a dress by Elie Saab. As a longtime lover of regional designers, it makes sense that Lopez would pick the Lebanese creative’s piece for the occasion. The green embroidered dress, styled by Rob Zangardi, was plucked from Elie Saab’s fall 2021 ready-to-wear collection and featured sheer lace sleeves and a bow around a high neck collar. For her fairy-inspired Instagram post, Lopez posed amongst green bushes and trees, complementing the color of the dress.
