All of Lady Gaga’s Best Joker Looks

Just when you thought method dressing was over, Lady Gaga has emerged to keep it going. Next month, the multi-hyphenate entertainer and Vogue cover star will portray Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à Deux, alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role. For the press tour, which kicked off earlier this week, the star has been paying homage to her screen character with bold fashion choices. (You didn’t expect Gaga to wear classic gowns, did you?) She has been intentional and deliberate with her style for years, using what she wears to reflect her current artistic era. So, it was only natural that her Joker tour would be entirely thematic, too.

The iconic Harley Quinn is twisted, slightly clown-like, and wholly psychotic; she loves a bold eye makeup look (often with a white painted face), and her cartoony clothes are bright, brazen, and jester-like. Gaga has been embracing the spirit in an elevated way. For the London premiere of the film, she slipped into a custom Celine creation: A bright red gown with a puff-sleeved bolero jacket. It was a fitting choice, given red is one of Harley’s signature colors, and Gaga paired it with luxe Tiffany & Co. jewels.

Some of Gaga’s wardrobe choices, however, have been less on the nose. Given the film is set in 1980s Gotham City, the star has also been choosing vintage pieces from the decade as another way to pay homage to the project. For a London photo call earlier today, she chose a vintage 1980s Anthony Richards floral dress with lace trimming, as reported by La Maison Gaga. Complete with the sky-high shoes and red hair, it looked as though she stepped off the set and right onto the carpet.

The Joker press tour has only just begun, meaning we’re bound to receive many more head-turning looks to come. Be sure to check back on this post as we continue to update the gallery with her very best ensembles. Below, see all of Gaga’s Joker looks thus far.
