Kylie Jenner Can’t Get Enough of This Kuwaiti Designer

Yousef Aljasmi‘s client list reads like a who’s who of superstars. The Kuwaiti couturier, who launched his eponymous label in 2007, has dressed A-listers that most designers can only dream of. Everyone from regional faces like Hend Sabri and Balqees Fathi to international stars Mariah Carey and Naomi Campbell have donned his dazzling, heavily-embellished ready-to-wear, couture, and bridal pieces.

The most recent to sport a Yousef Al-Jasmi creation is Kylie Jenner, who uploaded an image of herself on set on Instagram wearing a nude, body-hugging jumpsuit decorated with crystals that harkened to Britney Spears’ iconic outfit in the Toxic music video. She completed the look with a sleek, towering ponytail and smokey eye makeup.

It’s not the first time the beauty mogul dons a Yousef Al-Jasmi design. Back in September, the 21-year-old unveiled the campaign images of her Kylie x Jordyn Kylie Cosmetics collection on Instagram, in which her and her best friend Jordyn Woods are matching in sequined, form-fitting Yousef Al-Jasmi pieces.

The Kuwaiti couturier has dressed her big sisters on multiple occasions too. Memorably, on Halloween 2017, Kim Kardashian West chose a stunning rendition of the dazzling Bob Mackie gown Madonna wore for the 1991 Oscars alongside Michael Jackson dreamed up by Aljasmi. Just weeks later, Khloe Kardashian debuted her baby bump wearing a silver tasseled jumpsuit by the designer for the KarJenner clan’s annual Christmas card.

“Honestly, I think the reason stars – local, regional, and global – like to wear my brand is because it makes them outshine others. My dresses steal the show,” revealed the designer in conversation with Vogue Arabia. “For my pieces to be selected and favored by people from the other side of the world – despite the presence of many storied international fashion houses – is not something to be undervalued.” We couldn’t agree more.
