Sofia Richie Turns Designer With A Collaboration With This Kuwaiti Brand

Sofia Richie has collaborated with luxury accessories brand Marzook on an exclusive capsule collection. In celebration of the launch, Shouq Al Marzouq will host a dinner at her home in Kuwait preceding the press conference and the pop-up launch on March 19, which will be attended by Richie herself along with Shouq and Fahad Al Marzouq. “The dinner will be an exclusive VIP dinner to introduce the collection to our clients as well the public,” shared Marzook with Vogue.me.

The Lucid Orb

Marzook known for its trademark spherical bags has found fans in influencers and celebrities like Amal Clooney, Kylie Jenner, Olivia Culpo, Lupita Nyong’o, Rita Ora and Vogue Arabia’s February cover star Ciara. The capsule collection will feature three versions of the Lucid Orb handbag — neon pink, green and yellow plexiglass with brass hardware and a drop shoulder chain. Speaking to Vogue.me about the inspiration behind the bright colors of the collection, Marzook said, “We wanted to do something fun, vibrant and for the summer. Our goal was to target Generation Z. Sofia fits perfectly with that generation.” Richie who loved the process behind designing a bag, said she would style it “with a cute pair of jeans and white shirt. What is so great about the style [of the bag] is you can dress it up or down.”

The American model who is excited about her first fashion collaboration said, “Fashion design has always been a passion of mine. I look forward to more collaborations and collections in the future.” The excitement was mutual.  Marzook said, “She’s young and fun. She’s driven and passionate about the collaboration and collection.”

While Richie is looking forward to her trip to Kuwait, this isn’t her first visit to the Middle East. Recently, she visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and holds a special place of admiration for Arab women. “I love how Arab women love fashion. They are so stylish and chic. They also have the best taste in fragrances,” said Richie. Mirroring the thought, Marzook said, “Arab women have sophisticated, savvy, style, especially women in Kuwait, they really know their style.”

The collection retails at AED 2,957/SAR 3,021 and can be found exclusively on marzook.co and modaoperandi.com
