Following in the footsteps of Rodarte, Altuzarra, and Proenza Schouler who all moved their shows from the New York Fashion Week schedule to Paris Fashion Week, Dubai-based designer Kristina Fidelskaya has revealed that she will be staging her eponymous label’s Spring 2018 show in the City of Lights on September 28. The showcase will mark the brand’s PFW debut – Fidelskaya has never showed outside of the region before, with numerous showcases at Fashion Forward and Arab Fashion Week being its only milestones up until now. “Launching and growing internationally has always been my vision,” says an excited Fidelskaya to Vogue Arabia. “And what other fashion capital than Paris?”

Fidelskaya will be presenting her Anima Spring 2018 collection, inspired by American 1930s art deco era. “‘The latest collection focuses on structure and sculpture,” explains the designer, adding that she sought inspiration from Brutalist architecture empowered with romantic twists. The offering also takes inspiration from the Madonna-directed, British romance drama, W.E, which tells the story of two women separated by more than six decades. “I’m inspired by the strength and courage of the women within the story,” she muses.

Following her fashion show at the Hôtel D’Evreux, off schedule during Paris Fashion Week, the ready-to-wear designer’s feminine pieces will be permanently available at Parisian showroom, AMF Showroom, in an effort to further boost the her international presence.

Here, Fidelskaya gives Vogue Arabia an exclusive preview of her Spring 2018 collection. Expect tailored separates, architectural silhouettes, and the overall sense of cool she is known for.
