First Look: Kristina Fidelskaya Fall 2017 Collection

Ahead of Fashion Forward Fall 2017 on Friday March 24, Dubai-based designer Kristina Fidelskaya gives Vogue Arabia a sneak preview of her winter collection, entitled “Liberta.” “It is all about citing the notion of freedom as a source of inspiration,” Fidelskaya says. After a strong Spring 2017 runway showcase at FFWD in October last year that saw romantic, free-flowing silhouettes in pistachio greens, glam rock gold, and blush, the next destination on the brand’s evolutionary scale is loaded with an enriched color palette. For her winter fashion forecast, Fidelskaya has placed a strong emphasis on metallic pieces that are wearable for day but have high impact for the evening. “I translated my vision from the drawing board through experimenting with different styles, textures, and tones that are rich and bold.”

The collection will not be available for purchase until October to mid-November 2017 across the region. Enthusiasts of the UAE-based designer’s understated elegance will like the amplified brand DNA for winter. Judging by the added va-va-voom and confident dimensions of the outerwear, Fidelskaya has found the next level of creative liberty. “Key pieces from the collection include dresses and coats structured with bell sleeves, which become a decorative element of detail.” It’s a diverse line-up of separates that can be interchanged or left linear, as they will file out on the runway. “Floor-length flowy dresses, trumpet-sleeved shirts, and oversized coats also serve as a reminder that this is a collection designed with freedom in mind,” the designer says. In short, your fall wardrobe – sorted.
