You think you’ve seen it all: Kim Kardashian dressed in a Balenciaga wedding gown at Kanye West’s Donda listening party; an “invisible” Kim wearing head-to-toe second-skin black Balenciaga at the Met Gala, and her turn as a Simpson in Balenciaga’s buzzy spring/summer 2022 showcase. But, her Balenciaga obsession is far from over.

Ahead of her debut as a host for Saturday Night Live (grab your popcorn), Kim wore an all-leather look by Demna Gvasalia, comprising a puffy, oversized gilet, Balenciaga’s trademark knife boots, a baseball cap, sunglasses, leather gloves, and a gargantuan maroon duffle.
One outfit change later, she modeled another variation on her viral couture Met look. She once again sported the boot-legging hybrids, skin-tight gloves and a wrap top (this time with her face on show). Later on, she shrugged an enormous lurex faux fur tinsel coat over her shoulders.

Balenciaga’s alt pieces have become Kim’s uniform. Her current dress code isn’t a distant departure from her Yeezy days, when she regularly turned heads in Kanye’s offbeat creations. The key difference is that most of the time, it’s strictly all black, rather than the tonal palette Ye is known for. Forget her trademark naked dresses, Kim is bringing a taste of Berghain to New York.
