Princess Kate Goes for Head-to-Toe Pink in an Alexander McQueen Power Suit

For an official engagement at London’s Foundling Museum on Thursday, Princess Kate returned to one of the designers she’s most closely associated with, Alexander McQueen. This time, she opted for a monochromatic look in pastel pink.

Would we call this color blush? Salmon? Perhaps a seasonally appropriate peony? Whatever it is, Princess Kate wore it head-to-ankle (her pumps were white), donning a perfectly-matched top to go with the jacket and slim suit pants.

She’s worn the suit before, actually, though not quite in this way: In another engagement last year, also for her Shaping Us early childhood initiative, she paired the blazer and pants with a white camisole. This time, the pops of white came from her shoes, belt with a pearl-encrusted buckle, and pearl jewelry.

The museum visit focused on the organization’s youth creative writing program, and the princess was accompanied by rapper Professor Green to chat with some of the children about how writing has helped them process and understand their life experiences.

Of course, this colorblocked ‘fit is just the latest in Kate’s long love affair with McQueen designs: recently, she twinned with Princess Charlotte in ivory McQueen frocks at the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, and the design house is a go-to for weddings she attends, including Princess Eugenie’s, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s, and her own. McQueen also gives fantastic cape, it must be noted, something Kate has taken great advantage of.
