On the luxury boutique-laden Avenue Montaigne in Paris, at the Karoline Lang fifth-floor airy headquarters, friends of the Lebanese label’s founder, Karine Tawil, and jeweler Jade Jagger came together to celebrate the designers’ capsule. “I met Jade and simply asked her if she wanted to do it. It was very easy and natural,” says Tawil to Vogue Arabia of their collaboration. Amid DJ beats and a stream of canapés, the 2016 Fashion Prize nominee showcased her made-to-order tuxedo shirts embellished with Jagger’s intricate jewelry. While the Karoline Lang aesthetic leans towards streamlined and even strict, it blends well with Jagger’s jewelry that sparkles with eye-catching pizzazz.
The daughter of Mick Jagger, lead singer of The Rolling Stones, Jade Jagger is famed for her bohemian style and eponymous jewelry line rife with color. “If it goes well, we’ll certainly do more. Collaborations are great, they open your eyes to new things,” smiles Tawil.
The made-to-order embellished shirts will be available at the Karoline Lang Beirut and Paris stores. Karoline Lang produces ready-to-wear, couture, bridal, and evening collections.
