This Homegrown Label’s Latest Collection is the Key to Looking Put Together on Eid

Dubai-based designer Basma Abu Ghazaleh’s label Kage has launched their Fall/Winter 2019 collection right in time for Eid. Inspired by the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 1930s, Kage’s latest collection represents progressive modernity, luxury, and leisure. Speaking to Vogue.me about the collection, Abu Ghazaleh said, “My collection celebrates bold sartorial statements asserted during the Art Deco period and pairs it with contemporary designs making it relevant for the modern-day woman.”

Adding: “It’s an era that embraces creative freedom, a belief that is deeply embedded within the Kage DNA.”

Featuring effortless elegance, the collection has a universal appeal with its selection of pantsuits, checkered prints, and vibrant power shoulders. “I wanted to explore the decadence of the era and incorporate a rich color palette that is very much in tune with current runway trends,” the designer added.

Although it remains a challenge for regional designers to break into the global fashion market, Kage, with its youthful designs, is popular among the millennials as well as seasoned fashion enthusiasts. The Kage woman is clearly empowered and lives on her own terms and this spirit is ever-present in its collections. “The Art Deco era was marked by the women’s liberation movement and represented a whole new way of life,” explained Abu Ghazaleh.

The collection has a more glamorous take on modern-day elegance combined with the brand’s signature free spirit. With versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched, or worn as they are for an effortlessly put-together look, it is sure to be the perfect addition to your wardrobe for this Eid.
